I personally love it in WA State. I was born and raise in L.A., lived in SLC for 3 years, then landed here. I have no plans to leave the area. Quality of life is great. More things to do in every direction than you will have time to plan.
I don't have a whole lot of experience with the Kent area, but what I know about it is ok. I am directly East of Seattle about 15 min, across Lake Washington.
Wheelin here has everything you would ask for > great mountain twisty, challenging trails to high elevations, rocks, snow, mud, beach, desert (on the East side of the state) and on and on. Plus very close to Oregon and Idaho; even more wheelin to be had.
Come on over, the water is, well, a little colder than you are accustom to.
