SE Michigan Guys......

Do any of you know of a dealer in SE Michigan that has decent prices on parts? I have a front axle U-joint going out and unfortunately, the u-joints for the Rubi axles are OEM only. Shuman Jeep wants $90 each for them. Checked with all the local parts stores and they all confirmed that no aftermarket ones are available. Was hoping to fix it this weekend, but if i can't get them i'll just have to order some and wait for another free day.

And to add to my pleasure, i have been struck with the airbag light/ding feature from Jeeps wonderful clockspring/wiring harness design.

At least i'll have some brand new joints to throw at Moab....

I thought that the 44 crossed to a spicer you can grab anywhere cheap? And the 30 was dealer only?

The Rubi 44 is the harder to find one as Sliver is the only option other than super high cost joints for chromo shafts. The 30 is a standard 760x that can be purchased most anywhere

Anyway, order online for 80ish. I've also purchased Rubi joints through Unlimited Offroad in Fenton for around 80.

I just bought a spare Spicer U-joint for my D30 for $27 from Northridge. Not sure if it's the same one that the D44 uses. The part number is 5-760X.

No, the 44 uses a unique to it u-joint. The JK Rubi 44 front axle doesn't share a u-joint with any other axle. That is why they cost so damn much because they aren't made for anything else.

Thats a bummer. Thought you had a whole extra axle? I have my stock Rubicon shafts off my '09 if you are interested. Little less then 32k on them, only one short wheeling trip since its been non stock. Otherwise for $90 each I'd start thinking about upgrading.

i do and I'll swap those in, but still want to replace so the spares are ready for action. Found them online for 60ish at least.

Still seems like way to much for a u-joint. I'll bring my spare shafts to EJS just in case someone needs them.
