Need regear shop recommendation - Indianapolis Area

Hey Guys and Gals,

I would like to get the names of some trusted shops for regering in the Indianapolis area. I had a bad experience with the 4 Wheel Parts store on Washington street, so that store is a no go. Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing everyone is out wheeling instead of reading the forums. Can't blame them, that's what I'd like to be doing too. Might have to travel to another state to find a decent shop for a regear.

Just for sh!ts and giggles I stopped by 4WPs and had them quote me their price to regear. $3200 is what they quoted me. Way too high. I also asked them if they used a case spreader in their installs and they said only if needed. As far as I knew, the Dana 30 and 44 both require a case spreader to get proper carrier bearing preload. No way I'm allowing these guys touch my Jeep. Surely there is someone in the Great Lakes area that knows of a good shop?

There is a guy named Bob Hill most of us use. He is the only person that I let do gears on my Jeep. If you check out some of the local Jeep clubs i'm sure you'll see his name several times. His shop is just east of munice. PM me if you want his number.

Just saw this thread, so sorry if this is too late. There's a shop down by me in Louisville, KY called Moab Offroad that quoted me $2450 for a complete regear to 4.88's. I plan on getting mine done very shortly.

I don't personally know him. But we're friends on Facebook. From what I've heard he does good work. I personally drove to Fort Wayne and used Matt and Seth. Seth works for Dana.

I spoke with Matt last year - Muncie will work much better for me.

Sending you a pm Scott - thanks!
