Anybody interested in getting together in So IL?

I was thinking a meet and greet BBQ or something. Any thoughts? I could even have some Land Cruiser buddies come and we can make fun of them.

Maybe July 10? I'm open for suggestions

Looking like it will be you and I. Doesn't appear that anyone is interested. Maybe I'll move to Florida and join up with mid Florida Jeep club. Lol

It's possible that there just aren't very many forum members in S. IL - several other organizations I've worked with have found the same thing. Either S. IL is just that lightly populated or else people there don't do anything!

I'm in Indianapolis so not that far away actually... but I don't get to S. IL that much.

Send a message via Yahoo to droldz

I'd be up for a get together, sunday would be better for me or in the evening on sat. We could do a trail ride also.
there are allot of people around with JK's they are just not on here.

I grew up in the area and have several friends still there that wheel a lot (no JK's though). And at least those that I know, just aren't internet forum people; they'd rather be out wheeling than spending time on the 'net talking about it...

A trail ride would be good except I'm only aware of the trails at LBL but that's a long drive.

Droldz....any suggestions on where to get everyone together?

Actually, if you plan a weekend LBL trail ride in advance I'd be up for that! My family lives down in the LBL...

You ever been to Interlake? I'm not sure exactly where you live but Interlake is just east of Evansville, Indiana.

I'm just going to throw this out there. The only places I know to wheel are out of state with a couple of hours drive. Unless anyone can come up with some trails I propose that any persons that want to get together (possible plan a trip, and get to know other jeepers) we have a burger or vegi-burger (what ever floats your boat) and some beverages on the weekend of July 10th at Johnson Creek Rec Area, Hwy 151, on the Shawnee National Forest.

Let me know what everyone thinks. Great camping on the Shawnee Forest, several state parks, and Army Corp of Engineers at Rend Lake.

Change of location. We had to move to the Garden of the Gods Recreational Area(Shawnee National Forest). Its located about 15 miles east of Harrisburg, IL. There is a campground on site, no electricity. There are a couple of private campgrounds, 34 Ranch, Hays Canyon, Circle B. For those who have never been to Garden of the Gods, it is an impressive area with sandstone rock formations and bluff lines. We're planning throwing some grill goodies on around noon (bring some food, I have about 30 hamburgers). I have about 6 jeeps confirmed, let me know if you're coming.

If you have questions give me a call 618-771-6836

So far everyone is local. Camping is available at garden of the gods. I think its $15-20/night. Hotels are in Marion about a 40 min drive. I will be leaving from Marion around 10am on Saturday. Feel free to give a call, maybe easier than typing on this phone. 618-771-6836.
