Need to Pop New JK's Cherry

I bought my stock JK Unlimited right before heading back to college last fall and never got a chance to give her a good break in. Any good locations relatively close to the Chicago Suburbs?

Unfortunately the only place we have to wheel our rigs is The Cliffs Insane Terrain down in Marseilles, IL. If you're thinking of going there, go with a group just in case you get stuck. If you're willing to travel a bit, there are a few parks within a few hours in every direction (IN, MO and MI).

Heck, if you're available this Sunday, Great Lakes Jeep Thing is hosting their annual Newbie Run down at The Badlands in IN. You're more than welcome to join if you want.

For more info click here--->Newbie Run Info

If you can, just make sure you have some of requirements. Requirements

If you have any questions or want more info PM me.

Kevin

Sure my rig has seen the trail, but I wheel it like a soccer mom looking for a parking spot at Nordstroms.

That's what I was afraid of. I'm sure I'll find time this summer... I'm actually finishing up finals this next week so I won't be able to make it this weekend, thanks though.

No problem. Be sure to check us out though at www.gljt.org. Most times you can find someone posting up a run. As a club we've got only one other wheeling event which is summer bash coming up a the end if July.

Depending on how busy I am, I might actually be able to come to that event. As far as capabilities, I know the stock JK already has a lot of capability, but can it handle your club down in the IN Badlands? Minimally, I should probably put some new tires on her right?

You would be fine. What I've learned about GLJT in the year that I've been around the club is they're very accomodating, especially to those new to the sport. The club itself is not a hardcore wheeling group or a hey look what I can do. Honestly, I wouldn't worry to much if you decide to come wheel with us. When we wheel, we go out as a group and we come back as a group without fail. As far as tires, if you're sporting street I might suggest upgrading to a mud terrain or minimally an all terrain. In the few places we have to wheel at around us, mud terrains will do a better job of getting you through the sloppy stuff.

Hope to see you around.
