Battle In The Grove - Photos from 3/26/11

We had a great battle today. I think we had a total of 13 or 14 people show up, which made the teams interesting.

We set up some easy-ups for shade. Thank God. Cuz even though it was an early start (for us - 9 AM), it got hot quick.

DavidL showed up with his Golf Cart and gave kids and spectators rides. I owe David. He came up on Jose (while Jose was still in the game) and distracted the Cuban. Jose didn't see me blowing him to hell with my AK-47 until it was too late hahaha. Thanks David!

Before the battle started, my brother suddenly dropped his trousers and took a shit in his chair. It was disgusting.

My dad was fairly shocked at his son shitting in a chair. Gotta give the old man credit. He gets out there and roughs it up with us "Kids." The old man LOVES it and is constantly buying new gear. My mother tolerates it because, as she puts it, "it brings the generations together." Good on her. And him.

Just look at the old man! He's on the ground in the dirt killing bad guys. He told me afterwards, "I dont remember the last time I got on the ground like that. That's fun!" Awesome.

and..

Jeremy and I had an official Fat Guy meeting about 8 rows out in the Grove. A LOT OF YOU MISSED IT. I'm not pointing any fingers, but we are pound for pound the largest Jeep Club in the State of Florida.

After the first battle, Tyler got huffy and became a Diva. As you can see in this pic.

Marc couldn't believe he was playing airsoft with a bunch of Divas.

April pointed out that it was OK for her curtsy - because she's a girl and therefore exempt from the Diva status by virtue of being badass enough to get out there in camo and shoot it up with the boys.

During the third battle (capture the flag/defend the truck), Tyler took a mean shot in the head.

What's that you say, can't see the mean shot? Well, lemme tell ya, some asshole named Karn shot the lil twerp right in the brain! Let's zoom in:

But I gotta give him credit. The kid has a memory like an elephant. He returned fire on me the next round and exacted a pretty good revenge:

With my badass mask on. Notice how he snuck it in at the only weak spot on my face. I tip my hat to you sir. Well played...

Here Tyler was shooting me! Damnit man!

Here Jose is hawking in on Tyler right after he shot me. Get him you big dumb Messican you!

And how did that assault turn out? Tyler got NAILED! Hahahaha

That battle was finally over. We (the good guys obviously) won. The fun part about airsoft is standing around after a battle and shooting the breeze/reliving the fun. "I shot you here and you shot me there" type stuff. Good times!

I'm pretty sure Jeremy was going, "Dave shot me here!" I tore his ass up after an exchange with my Father.

Defend the truck is definitely the game of choice. Here are some random shots from various games we played...

I gotta give my brother credit. He is the sniper guy. He likes killing you with one shot from afar. He took out quite a few people today and at one point - as all snipers do - had to climb up on something.

I also gotta give Jose Credit. Like me, Jose is a big man - tall. But he moves pretty damn quiet and can cover some serious area. Here is in stealth mode:

He gets up under some trees and gives em hell!

Not to be outdone, Sniper Andy went into stealth mode. I tell ya, other than the stupid hat he has on, this is an advertisement for real tree:

Tyler's not as stealthy. Here is hiding out in the open behind oxygen. Good cover there Tyler!

On second thought, my brother isn't so swift at finding cover either.

And for those of you who say an old man cant get up off the couch and start running? I say, shoot at him and you'll think differently. I love my dad!

I had a total blast today and it made me a very happy man to see so many layers of my friends and family all having fun together. Get out doors and do something. You wont regret it!

Peace (and guns)!

Shoot effectively about 100-130'. If you are within 30' of someone and you pull the trigger -they are gonna feel it lol. You shoot them less than 20' away and you leave bruises and, if they are a bleeder, BLOOD!

It's so damn fun.
