Any good wheeling in Croom?

We were there for the 50 mile MTB Ride and didn't have the JK, just wondering for next time?
If you haven't been they do have nice campgrounds there.

It is all pretty flat, nice day exploring service roads, but nothing challenging. Can pretty much drive everywhere in 2wd.

yep, was just there 2weeks ago, nice scenic forest roads and great camping...

In 2009 a crack commando wheelin' unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the South Florida underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as wheelers of fortune. If you have a problem. If no one else can help. And if you can find them. Maybe you can wheel with The 50/50 Off-Road Team.

There are a few monster mudholes out there. The kinds that are full of wet goopy mud even during the dry season. The rest is easy forest roads. Imagine the gentle hills and sand trails of Ocala - without the pinstripes.

I like Croom myself.

Don't mean to sound stupid but the only part of Croom I've ever been in was for the bikes and quads only............where are you guy's talking about going taking the jeeps??????

I know where Richloam is on the backside of Croom.....is that the part next to Croom you guys are talking about?

The Withalachoochee Forest is broken up into several different tracts. The Croom Tract is located directly behind the Croom Motorcycle Riding Area. It is 40-50,000 acres of state forest carved with service roads. Richolam is another tract about 15-20 miles further east on SR 50. Take a look at the Withalachooee State Forest Website. You can download detailed maps.

I believe it's forest roads 3 and 4 that have some monster mudholes on them. Could be wrong.

This is true...I have heard of some insane fines for driving off the numbered roads. Same thing in all the WMA's. Something crazy like $500 per tire.

The two mudholes I am thinking bout are both right in the middle of the road. If you go around them - then yeah - look out. Or if you keep going through them over and over.

I posted up on www.jackedupjeepclub.com.

I'll be at Peacefest, but I told the JUJC idiots about this proposed ride. Some of them have been out there and know the mudholes I spoke of.

Good question. It's hippy music festival season for me haha.

Here is a link to a GREAT campground that is only about 10 miles from Croom WMA:

http://sertomayouthranch.org/Home.html

Hot showers and electric hook ups. Cheap too.

I live less than 10 minutes away from croom and i wont go there. Some of you are driving an hour or more to get here
Well thats just my .02
I hope you guys have fun though....

I like putting around in the woods. To each their own. Better than a good day driving around town. Easy to take for granted what we have in our own backyards though.

I'll be shitfaced drunk, holding thousands of dollars, painted blue or green, with a full auto AK47 airsoft gun in my hands - running the front gate at a music festival.

But yeah - it will be a beautiful weekend.

I'll be the one w/ the AK. The other guy (blue or green) will probably be holding an AR15
