Ocala Offroading - 10/25/14, anybody?

Anybody going out to Ocala this Saturday, 10/25/14 for some offroad fun? I just moved down to WPB and want to take a day trip out there to see what it's all about.

A couple questions I have:
- Do you have to have an off road permit/registration to go there? I've been reading about permits that you need to have, but don't know the specifics behind it.
- If I need one, where do I go about getting one?

I'd like to meet up with some jeepers to show me the trails, sort of a newb down here.

Let me know! Thanks

It is a bit far for a day trip. It is about a 5 hour trip from Sunrise. I've been thinking about doing a Sat/Sun trip though. Do Ocala one day, Hard Rock the next.

no off road permit needed. most of the wheeling is boring. the better trails will be east of SR19 and north of CR42 in the Paisley area. there is also some good riding north of SR40 especially in the northeast corner of the forest near the river. there is also another WMA near there called Lake George WMA. it has decent trails with mostly mud. it will be north of SR40 and east of the St. Johns River.
