Central FL area - Toys for Tots Bikes and Jeep parade

This was posted on www.jackedupjeepclub.com. If you want to attend and need exact directions, lemme know. It's not a huge event, but it is a charity event so I figure it cant hurt to post it in as many places as possible...

OK...

Lakeland Jeep Club and the biker club ABATE do a toy run (parade really) every year in December. I think this year is the 3rd year. We were invited by the Lakeland Club last year but I was the ONLY Jacked Up Jeeper who showed up. I take that back. Bev was there, but she was on a bike. Cheers to Bev! Al was there as well.

It was great. There had to be (minimally) 100 bikes there and I dunno, 10 or so Jeeps. The parade meets up way down in south Lakeland near Mulberry and goes up S. FL Ave all the way to the Civic Center. We get a police escort all the way - no stopping. The first "car" is a truck pulling a float w/ Santa Claus on it. The parade is unannounced and you otta see all the freaked out people getting out of church getting caught in a parade in downtown lakeland. They dunno if they should wave and smile or be pissed lol.

When we get to the civic center, you donate an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl. Last year I watched them FILL the back of a straight rig truck. It was awesome to watch. I am serious about that. My son, whose birthday is December 3rd, donates one of his birthday toys to the toy run and puts it in the bag himself. It's a great feeling to not only help a needy child, but to also watch my child learn a valuable lesson about sharing and being grateful for what he is blessed with.

Enough of that mushy stuff...

The meeting time/place is noon at the Christina Park in South Lakeland. Same park as last year. The event this year is December 6th. That is a Sunday. I would LOVE to see you guys there. Someone?!? We were a fledgling club last year - I'm thinking I'll have some of my fellow Jacked Up Idiots there w/ me this year .

Now you know.....

Here's a video from the end of the parade when we were donating last year. Awesome to behold...

Up in the air for me right now as I'll be moving next weekend and possibly starting a new job around that time. I'll see if I can swing it and let you know. Love toys for tots events.

E...

If you still wanna go, lemme know as it gets closer. We'll pretend you're a Jacked Up Jeepclub member. I got this email today from the Lakeland Jeep club president:

Hey guys I am sorry, but this year we just don't have enough room on the permit for this many rigs to be in the parade. I extended the invite to The Jacked-up Jeep Club, because you guys came over and participated last year. So if someone can pass on that This is LJC and Jacked-up only event I would appreciate it and we will see about getting enough room on the Permit next year to include more rigs. I know this sounds counter productive since it is all for the Kids, but I still have to abide by the guidelines I have been given. If someone wants to come and donate to the kids but not be in the parade that is awesome, but I hate for people to get there and us not have enough room on the permit and them not get to ride when expecting to be able to. Again I am sorry for any confusion I may have cause I don't get on this site enough or maybe I would have time to get more on the permit.

Woops! LOL I reckon I jumped the gun posting this on various forums. Oh well. Road to hell is paved w/ good intentions.

Eddie is a faggot btw.
