Question Florida JKO Christmas Party?

Anybody interested in having a Christimas party? I know there was a little talk about it last year, but nothing happened.

Somebody plan it if you are interested... I just come up with the idea's.

Idea is like - Meet at a restuarant (I liked the private room we had at TGI Fridays in Orlando) - Everybody get like a $20 wrapped gift. We will have a gift steal where the first person goes to the table and takes a gift and unwraps it. The second person will either get to steal the gift or go unwrap a gift.

If you are interested in this - Post up where you live (how far you are willing to drive) and when it would like to have it (some time in December).

I just think of the ideas - i stink at planning stuff.

I won't be back in Florida until mid-December and am already planning a road trip with the wife. I'm definitely game. So far we are planning on hitting Universal/Magic Kingdom then on to the Tampa area for some long range plinking. After that we plan to hit HardRock, not sure if it will be open or not though. Let me know when and where and the wife and I will be there. Oh and the Jeep should be sitting on TF long arms with EVO coilovers by then.

I'm in St. Augustine(when I'm home) and willing to drive pretty much anywhere in the state.

Wah Wah Wah! That's just the way we roll down here. If you don't like it don't show up. Just to make you sensitive people happy maybe Grant should be politically correct and change the name of the post to a Holiday Party.

I don't know if Grant knows how to be politically correct, but we will see.

Nope, not gonna change it... Cause thats how i roll.

I have to work during Hanakuh and during other religious holidays, but Jewish people and other relgious people get off work for Christmas? Do i sound bitter? Thats a whole other story, don't get me started...LOL!!!

What about doing a chairty for Toys 4 Tots or something... Most firestations do some type of charity for Christmas (Yep, i said Christmas) and we could do this instead of doing a gift exchange? Got the idea from a West Coast Member.

What about getting Vendors to support the cause? Hint hint hint...

Thoughts?

Again - somebody plan it.

Lakeland Jeep club and a local Harley club do a toys 4 tots jeep and bike parade in Lakeland every December. I took part last year. My son actually gave away some of his birthday presents from Dec. 3rd. Great learning opportunity for the lil man and it was fun!

I have a 'charity' in mind...

briefly:

Bill & Gail (old friends of my parents) are in their early 60s, have grown children, live in St. Cloud. They adopt special needs kids - and not just special needs, but REALLY special needs kids - out of the dozen+ kids they have, I believe only 3 of them are even mobile or capable of speech. Bill & Gail have given up vacations and such and dedicated their entire lives to taking these children whose parents can't take care of them so they abandon them or give them up, the hospitals can't care for them. A good deal of the children die within years or months due to their extremely complicated health conditions. Bill & Gail take these children in to love them for just a little while until they pass on. Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson's several years ago, yet their still adopting kids. If anyone at anytime ever feels the need to help someone out, I know no more deserving people than this. What they do is incredible.

2006 and earlier

My mom and dad organize a bike ride every year to help raise a little money for them - as you can imagine the medical expenses are through the roof and the little bit that SS gives them doesn't go very far. They also give a couple of the walking/talking kids rides (my dad is on the right)

I could be down for something. Not really up for driving all over the state but would not mind driving an hour or so.

I'd be game but have a Annual Christmas Party already scheduled at my house for December 12, 2009. This is a party my wife and I do every year and we have a white elephant gift exchange and we also kick in a mystery gift (first year it was a dildo) my club is always invited and anyone here is welcome to come. Not saying this has to be the JKOwners Christmas Party but thats where I'll be on the 12th so if you feel like getting drunk in Winter Haven feel free to show up.
