Our jeep club, www.jackedupjeepclub.com
, was started up (officially) in June of 2008. Since then, I've had the opportunity to watch it grow like a champ.
Jester (jake) was just a guy that lived around the corner from me who drove a blinged up TJ (LOL). I met this insane human being the DAY I got back from Jeep Beach 2008. I literally still had beach sand in my hair the first time I met him. He told me he was thinking about starting up a jeep club, gave me a web address and asked me to check it out.
Our first meeting was, I think, 4 or 5 Jeeps. We took up a portion of a tiny section of the restaurant we all met at. We had no clue what we were doing, but we knew we all liked Jeeps.
A year (and some change) later....
We just got back from a meeting at the same restaurant and it was kick ass. We took up the entire section we only partially filled before. Probably had around 30 people there with 10 or so Jeeps representing. Not one, but 2 new guys showed up and one of them basically told us he had 5000 acres we could ride on!!!
It's been amazing to be a part of a Jeep club's development from scratch. We are unusual too. We have no officers. No bickering. All our trail rides are planned on the forum.
We are still learning how to do things like organize a garage sale lol, show n shine, etc., but it's just damn neat to see something develop from NOTHING into a genuine club that is representing in our tiny sliver of the jeeping world.
That's all I got.
(and yes, I am legally drunk).
