Best wheel size?

Alright.. Ive been back and forth over buying used/new wheels but now leaning to new ones... I think i want 17's but im confused over 17x8 and 17x9... i dont think i have seen tires less than about 11? how does this work? also what are the thoughts on cragar vs black rocks vs others? i was gonna order the wheels from quadratec and go to discounttire for wheels to save on shippin... thanks everybody!

i run 17x9 with a 37x13.5 meat wrapped around it. i like wide tires so i opted for the 9" width wheel cuz i'll probably go a little wider in the future.

I like the 9" wheels for 13.5 tires and 12.5 are good with 8"

Unless you've got wider than stock axles, an extremely offset wheel, or additional spacers, I would not recommend running an 11" rim. 9" would be max I imagine. If you're going through Discount, ask them for a recommendation on rim width based upon your tire selection. Sufficient BS is around 4.5" and IMO for a DD anything more will cause excessive bearing wear leading to premature failure.

Surely take all suggestions into consideration but whatever you choose, I would recommend staying away from 15" rims. The JK brake rotors are designed for a minimum 16" wheel. I know, I know, some fit... but many don't without grinding the calipers. I know alot of peeps say they fit with no issue while others say with minor caliper "adjusting" you'll be fine but IMO you're better served with a wheel size designed for the JK. Anyway, if you're running a 35, you'll have plenty of rubber on the sidewall without running 15's
