Back in the day....HELL yea! Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Garage Days, Kill 'em All. Saw them in concert twice....once with Ozzy and the second time at Monsters of Rock in Indianapolis with Van Halen (Van Hagar I mean). After Cliff died, they just seemed to "fade to black". "One" was an awesome song and video, but they just seemed to lose their edge in the watered down media induced cookie cutter abyss after Cliff was gone.

I know they still put on one hell of a great show however. I'd see 'em again. Have fun at the concert man....should be well worth the price of admission to say the least.

Opeth- Blackwater Park
In Flames- The Jester Race

They KILLED at Lollapalooza 96. Helluva show with Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine playing 2 hour sets apiece. Definitely worth the trip.

Has Metallica ever put on a bad show???

Highly doubt it...Got 2nd row back in the day and I'll tell you what, it was one of my favoritist concerts. Singing (if u can call it that) onstage with Mellencamp came in first.

I agree about back in the day, I saw them on the "And Justice For All" tour! Really haven't listened to them in the last 10 yrs or so. Strange how my musical taste has changed as I get older.

I like em' tough making the adjustment after Cliff died.... weird how changing out a bassist can transform a group.... .I know that it wasn't just him dying, they just went a different direction.

I still have them on my Ipod and listen to them regularly.... mostly old stuff.

Love the remake of Whiskey in the Jar....

When you have someone in your band that wears bellbottoms in the 80s....that's gotta keep you grounded as a band lol.

RIP CLIFF.

Metallica sucks in concert. I have seen them 4 times and have always been disappointed. Kirk is a sloppy guitar player. I love their music, but as a guitar player I'm pretty critical of sloppy guitar work.

They played in Irvine last year, I didn't go. I bought the recording of the show from their website tho, and the musicianship was terrible.

Honestly I guess it depends how you listen to music. If you are busy jumping around in a pit, as long as the music is loud and in key you probably aren't going to care. I like to kick back and listen to the band perform so I am more critical.
