Wheeling January 26th, Saturday.

By popular demand, we're Wheeling January 26th, Saturday @ Cleghorn.

Meet @ 9:30 A.M.

Wheel and be on the trail by 10:00 A.M. Sharp. (PACK A LUNCH!)

Location: 15N Exit Cleghorn Rd

N34 17.973 W117 27.396

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=N34+17...gl=us&t=m&z=15

Description:

Cleghorn Ridge Trail is a combination of two parallel trails, one difficult and the other easy that intersect at several points. One is basically a fire road while the other one has difficult sections and is considered "Off Shoots" from the Fire Road. Every section has a bypass. But a stock Jeep can do this whole trail.

Going:

1. BullyWagon
2. Rippicon
3. jaker
4. Swells
5. Bellyrash
6. yellowranger1
7. TheMikeD

Maybe:

1. bullcrew

Original OP:

I'm thinking about going Wheeling January 26th, Saturday.

Everyone and anyone is invited to join. Depending on the size of the group, and the experience, we can get a trail picked in advance.

What i'm thinking:

EASY:

1. Cleghorn

Located off the 15N right before the Cajon Pass.

MEDIUM:

2. Calico

Located right past Barstow, CA off the 15N.

HARD: Minimum of 35's required. 1 LOCKER & Body Damage is likely! So Rockers are needed

3. Mottino Wash

Located by Big Bear on Hwy 247

Basic & Universal Requirements for all the above:

Recommendations:

- Front and rear tow points required.
- Rock rails required.
- Skid plates recommended on lifted Jeeps, required on stock height Jeeps.
- At least a little lift recommended.
- CB radio highly recommended.

Stock Jeeps can make it through (all the trails above except for Mottino Wash), you'll need skid plates because you WILL use them as well as your rock rails. You'll need to choose your lines carefully, and even then you may still need a tug or two.

Personally, I'd rate mottino more difficult then John Bull for comparision, especially 4drs. Some sections are tight with boulders. Ive heard it nicknamed a mini clawhammer, a few times. Personally I wouldn't want to run anybody through there with less then a minimum of 35s, one locker, and stout rocker protection. I'd suggest everyone on mottino have a full size spare, as there's lots of boulders. Last trip we had some flats. Even then it'll be work. Little bit of a trip to get there, but fun short run, with an equipped rig. Have fun bud. I'd say its closer to the 247, then the 38, honestly.

Will do, bud. Just have to get the metalcloaks mounted up first. Figured I'd give you the heads up on mottino. A group of open diff, with 33s, would make for a looong day. Prolly be a weekday, as the work schedule isn't great for weekends. Available if we need to wrench on the rig, bud. You know the schedule. Later...

If you hit the easy trail I would like to come along. No skids (other than factory) and no lift. :-(

we may just do cleghorn if no body wants to wheel. thats the closest wheeling to me...

and you wouldnt really need skids. we could get you through everything.

I will have to make sure I can clear the date but I think I would be in for Cleghorn or Calico. I still don't have the winch but I am willing to try anything.

Better have a damn good excuse if you can't make it!

We don't have to do anything hardcore. And this run is family orientated/kid friendly!

I would be up for Cleghorn or Calico.

I only have factory skidplates so I don't want to do anything too extreme.

I'd be interested in going.

I like Cleghorn, but I'd be down for Calico if it were appropriate for a stock Rubicon. This is the first I've heard of it.

Calico can be done in a stock Rubi with no problem. Just know you will be using your skids and rockers out there.

Wheeling January 26th, Saturday.

My vote (fwiw) is for Cleghorn. Closer and easier sounds good to my holiday bruised wallet. :-)
