Camp, Off Road, and Shoot

Im looking for a trail that I can do over a weekend and camp along the trail and also go shooting, in the southern California area. Not looking for anything hardcore, just something mild to moderate trail type.

I like the Ocatillo Wells area. You can Jeep in the park south of the 86s.

Take the 86S to Salton City, turn south on SR22. You'll see the Jeep Challenge area on the left (lots of fun and broken Jeep parts there). Then turn right in the area before Truckhaven road. If you see a sign on the right Bartsch Road is the indicator of private property. That is too far. You can turn on that sign but just go away from the road and go North West about half a mile and look for little shooting canyons. You'll see the spent cartridges on the ground.

Warning, this is still private property. You can technically be kicked off. Respect it. Clean your brass and take your trash.

Mojave Road is fun and easy, you can shoot on the west end after you exit the preserve. Just pick up after yourself.
You may want to wait a couple months, with temps right now about 110 degrees it won't be fun or easy.
