Nice of you to post this for her. Like most of us here, I fucking hate thieves. Hope that they find the assholes.

I did find a picture of one of the guys involved...

I hope the justice served is the kind that the police find out about when it's too late.

I'm on craigslist constantly and will keep and eye out for it, was it a standard hardtop or a body colored hardtop?

Or it was the perfect way to steal and transport a hardtop and no one would ever think anything of it, with 2 to 3 guys you could pull and then install a top in less than 5 minutes. I bet these shitbags are stealing tons of hardtops and unloading them at junkyards or craiglist for a quick buck. Lots of junkyards and recycle yards out here in southern california are shady and WILL buy stolen shit. Now that this has me worried about mine I'm going to through bolt mine and weld the nuts to deter a quick theft and do something for the doors as well.

if the stole the hardtop, why do all the pictures show them doing stuff to the front of the jeep? hood up, reaching under front fender, etc... did they steal anything else?

I believe they were looking to take other items, they spent time messing around up front, but ultimately just took the hardtop.

I wonder how well the house is lit out front? Both of my lights have been out for a while. Maybe that's why we were a target it gets a bit dark but we still have a porch light.

I hope the Karma train pulls into their station soon. Here is my anti theft device:

Unfortunately this kind of jackel would probably steal my inert shift knob, too. Watching craigslist ...
