Hello (again) from SoCal

It's been a while since I have been on the forums - work, life etc happened In any case, I'm an avid Jeep owner and I've been wheeling for nearly 20 years now (I know... not as long as some others here.. but cut me some slack - that's as long as I've been legally driving ). My first rig was a 1986 Jeep XJ with the crappy Chevy 2.8 V6, While the V6 sucked, I liked the platform and went through 3 more XJ's. one ended its life after getting rolled, one got sold and I kept the last one - it's my full on trail rig.

When the 3.6 JK's came out after some negotiations with the trail boss/financial manager (wife ) I traded my other toy - VW GTI for a 4 door JK as we discussed the idea of introducing some version of mini us into this world (and lets face it... two door sports car is not practical for using with a car seat).

Anyways, we picked up a 2012 JK Unlimited at the end of the model year for a steal. In order to get financing approval I had to meet couple criteria - hard top, not black but with black flares Easier said then done! Anyways we did find one for a steal though the down side for me no LSD and 3.21. Knowing that I can re-gear myself I wasn't too unhappy about it.

Fast forward about 6 months... the mini us we were considering is on the way so with that in mind all the other projects went the way of the dodo - time to do the nursery, get last two trips in that we can (on one trip we drove all the way up to Seattle)

Now that the little one is nearly 5 months I can slowly start thinking about projects though I have to be somewhat conservative about them My goals for the next year to year and a half are better gears and either a limited slip or a locker, rear bumper that has a built in hitch that could be used to tow a pop up trailer, electric brake controller and potentially a transmission cooler. I know it doesn't sound like much and some of this used to be a just a weekend project for me in the past on the old jeep but hey... life changes

Btw, if anyone has an '12 or so JK that has 3.73's and is looking to upgrade their gears maybe we can workout a deal where you use my axles and I take yours that are already geared Something to consider
