Julian/Poway Ca area

hey guys,
Ill be moving that way here real soon! and what's out that way. I know desert is popular. Should I prepare for more trails, rocks, or a-lot of sand. Im willing to travel for different stuff, but is it healthy to shoot for a decent set of sliders? and maybe something else? let me know what i should be looking for, and maybe your clubs or groups and places?

Nick, I use the word AWESOME a lot.

Ya need to be ready for both out here. You will be in a great spot for some epic jeep events in that area that can take you from the deserts to the sands of the Mojave and beyond.

As for skids, as previously posted you are going to want to protect that belly and you will want rock rails as well. Rails that keep the rocks away from your skin/paint as the decomposed granite we crawl on out here something to experience and is not forgiving to mistakes.

There are some non-technical trails just above Poway up in the Ramona area.
