Yeah, it's easy to get to once you finish Gold Mountain. It's very easy, though. A 2WD truck could make it through there. I did it in 2WD only. But it's still pretty cool to drive through - fairly scenic.

It can be found/started without first doing Gold Mtn, as well. Jacoby Canyon is 3N61, and it turns off of 3N16 (Holcomb Valley Rd) at its very eastern end (near the old Doble Mine site and the Big Bear transfer (trash dump) site), out by Baldwin Lake. The other end of the trail intersects Hwy 18.

As Rob (Ogie) stated, it is an easy drive and quite scenic. (Although, it is a lot of fun when cutting fresh tracks in newly fallen snow, but that is a different season).

I don't remember seeing anything like that on the trail.

That could be Jacoby Canyon -- the white Jeep is traveling in the east to west direction (or, *uphill," or from the hwy 18 side towards 3N16 (all the same)). If you look just past the Jeep, there is enough room for him to "squeeze" by that boulder, and not actaully have to go on top of it. Thus, I think that is the area near the dry stream crossing where you drive down between the rocks (it is kind of a "squeeze" with no real worry that you are going to hit on either side; plus, the rocks only come up to about rock rail height.)

That is Jacoby- that is my buddy Brian's TJ and me yelling "get a Rubicon" LOL! That rock section is about halfway up.

We usually go up Jacoby whenever we are going to do Gold Mtn or JB or others up in that area. Its on the way from my house in LV off of hwy 18 and comes out near the Lucky Baldwin mine.

We want to run this trail this Sunday (July 26th) if anyone wants to go? Our friends visiting from Saudi Arabia want to go up to Big Bear this weekend.
post up or call if interested.
