Saturday August 1st Big Bear Area

The wife and I with a couple friends will be camping out at Hanna Flat Campground. I was wondering if anyone could show us Gold Mountain, and other trails that are not as intense as John Bull. Anyone???

Wish I could....but got a funeral to go to.

The maps up there are pretty good. Should be able to find the trails without much problem (how much time did we spend between Dishpan and JB last time???).

Dirty's Minions don't officially exist. They are a myth, a bedtime story, a whispered rumor. They are ghosts.

Shoot. I'm up in the Big Bear all the time . . . but one of the boys has a swim meet that weekend.

Gold Mountain is not too hard to find. It is 3N69.

I have done it as a solo vehicle . . . locals do it all the time . . . but, probably not the best of ideas, especially if you have never done it before.

The last few times I've led stock JKs (just as an example) on Gold Mtn, we didn't need to winch or strap anyone, but there were a few rock-stacking sessions going on.
