A total of 5 rigs and 9 folks made the trip to EJS for the first time this year, and it was AWESOME!!!!
If you have not been to Moab to Wheel, GO, GO NOW! Seriously the Red Rock Four Wheelers Club puts on a great Event, VERY organized, and we found the citizenry to be very friendly and helpful.
We left NW Arkansas FRiday morning at 0'dark thirty, overnighted in Denver Friday, got into Moab around 3 on Sat. Towing two rigs to a trailer, it was 21 hours, 40 minutes, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Between the group we ran 6 trails. Fin's and Things, Hell's Revenge, Pritchett Canyon, Metal Masher, Poison Spyder Mesa, and Porcupine Rim, and they all had something different to offer.
Fin's and Things and Poison Spider were probably most scenic. Pritchett was probably the most fun. It's a great trail, but very doable. Two of our guys with four inch lifted JKU's on 35's ran it with no problem. Lockers are a must, but we NEVER pulled cable. Spotting is important, but the only damage we suffered was your's truly trying to follow a buggy straight up Rocker Knocker. If I'd of had smaller and lighter tires, (and a motor) I think it's doable and I'll find out next year. With my ultra heavy 40's I just couldn't generate the wheel speed I needed to claw my way up the second ledge. NEXT YEAR!! Revenge and Masher both had challenging sections but if you look after your equipment there's really no reason 33's couldn't make them clean.
We also to toured Arches National Park, and once again, it was AWESOME!!
