Hughes Creek/Blue Creek Road in WV

Sorry for the poor video below. Shots taken with my iPhone I am looking into getting one of the dash mounted cameras.

I was finally able to make it back down to my Nephew's this past weekend and had a wonderful time seeing the sites.

On Friday evening we decided to travel up Hughes Creek Road to the top of the mountain.

Below is a picture from the bottom of the hill I went up last time I was there.

Here is the going up video.

Here is a picture from the top of the hill before we went back down.

Here is the going down video (caution I said the S word when we first started)

Just a shot the next morning.

Now on Saturday we had even more fun. My Nephew used to live on Kelly's Creek Road so we decided to go up as far as we could and then follow some really old long forgotten state roads that we thought would lead us to Campbell's Creek. We were a little off and finally ended up following Blue Creek. Below are a few pictures and videos of the experience.

We ended up crossing the creek several times. Here is one of those times.

Then we found this old railroad bridge.

Video crossing train bridge.

Just one more video to share. We were going on one of the dead end roads we found and came across this steep incline. We decided to go up it and at the top we found another gas well. Here is the video going back down.

Is this in the Pinch area? I'm familiar with Blue Creek, but not Hughes Creek and one of those pics looks familiar.

I am not totally sure however I do remember my Nephew saying that term. I will have to check with him.

Hughes Creek is 5 miles west of Montgomery on Rt. 60. From Montgomery back towards Charleston they go Hughes Creek, Kelly's Creek and then Campbell's Creek.

It would be nice to meet up with some guys next time I am down in that area. Usually there once a month.

Cool video. I'll bet that crossing had a little pucker factor!

Only when I had the bright idea to back up once I crossed to take pictures. Now that was scary.

You're a braver man than me crossing that bridge!

I think this thing is finally coming together. Still Needed: drive shafts, frame mount rails...then done son! For a while...
