Road trip to Boston from g'boro and back.

This was the first long road trip after mounting new Level 8 alloy wheels.
With the shimmy and vibration eliminated, cruising at 75MPH with cruise control was a breeze.
The JKU handled beautifully. Let no one say 37" MT's suck for long road trips.
Spent 6 days in and around Boston. We left G'boro at 1:45pm on Friday and arrived in Dorchester at 4:40am Saturday. Not bad considering 1 stretch of I81 took an hour to go 10 miles. The clutch did not wear me out or make me wish we drove the Patriot instead.
I did not find the stock seat the least bit uncomfortable. Given that I have degenerative osteoarthritis in my tail bone, that is saying something.
My 6'4" son was comfortable in the back seat for the entire trip.
The return trip was yesterday. Figured there would be a lot less traffic than on Black Friday.
For nearly 3 quarters of the trip the cruise control was on. Set a record for trip time including stops. Under 14 hours. Not bad considering I was not exceeding the speed limit by more than 10mph and only doing 75 in 70MPH zones.
The only time the height and weight became obvious was on the 50 mile stretch off 220 south out of Roanoke VA. That stretch would be fun on a motorcycle or a sports car. But the JK still handled it well.
So if your significant other says your built JK is no good for a family road trip, you can tell them they are wrong.
Total trip distance was 1885 miles.

PS. Thanks to Marcus for getting the new wheels to me in time for the trip.

Got any pics of the Level 8 alloy wheels? Sounds like a fun road trip. I've taken mine on a 500 mile road trip, love driving it so it's all good

The trip was primarily for my mother-in-law's memorial service. So there want much time for any play on this trip .
