Death Valley Info

We're taking a number of Rubis to DV in the next few weeks and I'm trying to see if anyone can give me current info about a couple of ideas I have...

Is the road from Inyo Mine in Echo Canyon open for vehicle travel to the NV state line?

Is the road across the southern border of DVNP to Owl Hole Springs open to travel even though it looks like it goes into Ft Irwin?

I'm asking these questions as we really like to camp around a fire and if we stay outside the park it's ok to do this.

I made the inyo to NV trip about a year ago and the trail was very easy. There is a great spot to camp just outside the park boundary. Its kinda down in a valley and well protected from winds. There was a fire ring already established when we were there. Did you talk to the rangers about current trail conditions?

Thanks for the info. Haven't gotten to the rangers yet, but it's on the list
