Rebel Offroad: Panamint Valley Days 2010 Trip Report

Rebels,
The California 4WD Club Association recently held it's 25th annual Panamint Valley Days in Death Valley. The whole Rebel Team couldn't make it out so we sent Jason in his recently "locked-up" 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X. If you recall in the write-up, we installed the Superior Axle and Gear SUPER kits in the front and rear with ARB lockers and 5.13 gears.

The weather was absolutely perfect - highs in the 70's but cold, cold nights. Not a spec of wind till Saturday night but other than that, someone from above was certainly keeping foul weather away.

The CA4WDCA spokesperson stated that just shy of 300 vehicles were registered for the 3 day event. That's a huge turnout! There were several run groups throughout the day. Mainly scenic trails with a few obstacles thrown in to keep the modified guys happy and the stock guys challenged.

Each run was a "destination" run with trails winding up at ghost towns, mining camps, and even the infamous BARKER RANCH where Charles Manson was arrested. It was recently burned down though in late 2009 so the area was even creepier than usual.

Enjoy the pics!

Yep, Jason says 25 lbs of air was causing grip issues (and a sore back after all those washboard roads.)
