Note to Customs,
when you pull out the sniffer dog, could you possibly open the door for your hound, save him trying to get in the fucking window!! This vehicle had around 30 miles on it from when it was assembled after a complete respray ( empty door shells etc etc).
The window rubber is a brand new item as all outers were replaced
I cruised into LA the day before my plane departure. The idea was so I weren't running around like a fool but I still ran out of time. I spent the morning packing my bags with the items that I didn't want to leave in the vehicle and organising the van so nothing moved around while she's at sea. I didn't know what to do with the spare off the Jeep, so I rolled up the mattress and with some anchor hooks screwed into the cross bracing under the bed, strapped her down there. I hope it doesn't move.
Even giving myself an extra hour to get across LA to Compton, friday arvo traffic has other plans.
I get to the shippers right on 4 pm, their cut off time for receivals, but thankfully they let me in..........
Total kms from Charleston SC to Compton LA was 4720 odd kms. Almost Atlantic to Pacific.
Uber to the airport for a 11:55pm departure.
So now your shippin' the jeep AND the camper back?
Love the tow mirrors!
Yep, funny thing is the camper has to be modified for right hand drive. The door is on the wrong side!!
Yeah, my cheap arsed mirrors worked a treat. They're mounted in the visor so I can open the doors fully without disturbing them. When I get this whole shooting match back here, I'll shorten them up. I previously owned a much wider Jayco several years ago and they're set for it.
Shame to try to explore such a pretty part of our country durin' that clusterfuck. Just somethin' 'bout havin' a thousand rigs on the trail that irritates me.
I know where you are coming from KOWBOY, crowds aren't my thing either. But for me, due to the trip timing and and a couple of other factors, I have to make the most of my limited time there. If that means queueing up to experience the uniqueness of Moab, so be it...
There's no doubt in my mind that this will be an absolute blast!!!
