Appleton ORV Park in Western Minnesota

YouTube - ORV Park in Appleton, Mn (28 Aug 2010)

This is a much kinder ORV Park for learning to wheel. However as most know Sand can be tricky. There are hill climbs with sand and some clay. But there are round rocks and lots of Sand. Oh and the Jeep Eating Mud Holes.

There are two sides to this Park:
Main; where Jeeps share with ORM (Off Road Motorcycles), ATVs They have there own areas and trails as well and a few common to both.
Jeep only side: there trails running thru some swampy ground (trails are marked, just haven't been used in awhile. While your in there be sure to say hello to the other Minnesota State Bird.

All and All it is a fun ride out there, it will keep most interested IMO.

I haven't made it over to Appleton yet. Looks like it's quit a lot of mud. This spring when I was considering heading over there it was closed due to flooding. I know we have had a lot of rain this year, but is it typically still a lot of mud? I'm not too big on mud-boggin'. Maybe I'll try to check it out some time under dryer conditions.

Good to know.

I just checked out the Northwoods Overland website. That looks pretty cool. I hadn't heard of this place before. The photos on their site look like they have some pretty decent trails. Post up some pictures and give us a report when you get back.

Will do that, so far it looks as if we are planning for a 3 day trip! Should be fun.

That's a sharp looking red XJ. Looks like a pretty good set up.

Nice video. I see there were a few "Jeep eating mud holes"!
Looks like fun!
