Silver Valley Jeep Jamboree?

I see that they are having a Jamboree in my back yard this year. Wallace is just 30 minutes the hard way over the mountain from my house.

I'm wondering if anyone's been on this one before? It seems like they had it for a number of years, then stopped doing it. Now it's on again for this year. Is it worth shelling out the coin ($750) to wheel in my own backyard?

Also, is anybody planning on going to this one? I see that Genright has it on their events calendar. We don't get many vendors in this neck of the woods, so maybe it's worth a trip over just to peruse the wares.

Thoughts?

I've tried them all... Jeeps are still the best. (0||||0)

I'm also curious if this is going to turn into a bigger fun event.

I grew up in the Silver Valley, and remember this event from when I was younger. It's good to see it's back, but sadly I can't really give you much on the first hand experiences. It stopped happening before I really got into Jeeping, and now I live too far away to reasonably participate. I have a few buddies who are still up there that have gone in the past and had good things to say about it, and went every year when it was going on. So it has something going for it.

That price feels pretty steep for the area, but the Valley has turned into a minor tourist stop now, so that might have something to do with it. It would be hard for me to justify that price if I still lived close though...since it would be available year round.

If you do decide to go though, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the event, and if it was worth it, or if it has potential to grow into something special!

I just heard that the final count was 149 people, 77 jeeps. I'm heading over the mountain to check out the vendors this afternoon/evening.

If any JKO folks are there, I'd love to chat and have a drink. PM me.
