Artec's new front fender armor

Received them last Tuesday and got around to test fitting them today before they go out for powder coating on Monday. The fit and finish is excellent.

The fenders are steel and the rub rail is aluminum.

Pretty sharp looking, I didn't even know those were out.

How was the install ?

Do they make rears?

The install went pretty smoothly, considering no directions were included but this isn't rocket science and there is really only one way these get installed.

They sent a template for the extra 3 or 4 holes that needed to be drilled. I just lined it up with the existing holes, clamped it down and drilled.

Then lined up the inner supporting braces to make sure everything lined up and drilled where needed.

These fenders do not install with nutserts but with nuts and bolts. Which should help keep the strength in the long run. Also everything lined up perfectly to existing holes. Artec seems to have excellent quality control at this point.

As far as the rear corners, they are only available for the JKU currently and the 2 door version is down the road to being released. Not sure if I will wait as I'm looking into doing a 6" stretch.

Sorry I just dropped them off last night for powder coating. When I get them back I'll post more photos. In the mean time you may check my photo bucket file for all the pictures I've taken up to this point and maybe it might satisfy you in the mean time. http://s920.photobucket.com/user/Mac...?sort=3&page=1

I got them back and mounted them. All I need to do is splice in the side marker that was included. If there are any particular angles someone would like to see just let me know.

Those things are mad! Would look awesome with my VKS sliders. Hard angles.

I can't tell from the pics, and you're wheels, or axles, mseem very wide.

What is the width on those things?
How do they compare to stock width?

They appear narrow, but I can't tell.

My front axle is a prorock 44, stock width but the wheels are ATX slabs with 3.5" backspace and the Cooper tires are 13.5" wide so it has a slight bigger width than factory.

Not sure on the inner fender liners as those were thrown out long ago but I don't see a problem keeping the stock ones, if trimmed, and or aftermarket ones.

The rear I don't have as those haven't been released for the 2 door.

The front fenders are almost 7" at their widest point near the front area, and 4-1/2" at their shortest point all the way back to the slider.

Installed the flush mounted side markers into the fenders last night and I found a small dirt mound to flex on.

It's a fun little place. Nothing serious but not bad to get a little flex on. Wish I was closer to SC, Georgia, Tennessee etc as that is some good wheeling up in those parts.
