Jeep vs tractor trailer

I was was at work parked while doing my route they told me someone hit my jeep. Anyone have any ideas on what it will cost. Also since it was in an accident does that affect the value since it won't go through insurance? I gotta talk to the mangers tomorrow.

Sorry you did not get to scratch it yourself and have a story to tell. You will be fine as far as value, the damage is minimal. Perhaps you can take the money and upgrade the fenders Afterwords touch up the paint. I have seen more than my share of damage from a weekend trip that ended with with body damage, so like said above scars add character.

Your jeep was parked at work, but who hit it? A UPS driver with their truck or someone trying to park their car?

A feeder driver backing up a trailer. Kind of hard to explain how it happened.

Calling your insurance is a guaranteed way to have the damage show up on Carfax. It WILL affect your resale value, as it simply says "damage to front of vehicle". If your company is agreeing to pay out of pocket for damages hit up a couple of body shops and get some estimates. If they make a claim with their insurance it will also show up on Carfax. The metal fender looks to be pulling away from the grill at the bottom. You will be surprised at how much it will cost using new parts. The plastic fenders are almost $300 each new. You're looking at hood, metal fender, plastic fender and grill damage. Plus repainting and possibly blending. Over $1000 easy, probably $1500 or so.

Not all insurance claims show up on CarFax. Many do not send damage under a certain threshold over.

I will also agree that you will probably be surprised at how much it will cost to repair what looks like a small amount of damage.

Dunno, I took out a neighbors door way back with my TJ. She opened it up and I want paying attention rofl.
No damage to the jeep (can't say the same for the door), but it did show on carfax. The date was there I just took me awhile to remember what happened.

Just an update for anyone interested got a quote for just over 3800. So I am sure there insurance will send out an adjuster after I send them the estimate. the guy in charge of my claim seems like he is going to be difficult(ie not returning calls). I don't know the best way to handle him either keep being nice and calling more than I should have to or just lay down the law.

Probably what I am going to do except I'll probably get aluminum fenders.

be nice to the guy of you can, thats a high estimate. everything there is fixable execpt the fender. if you decide to go cheap i have a fender flare off a '13 thats in perfect shape. theres nothing quick about insurance companys, took a week for adjuster to look at my jeep, then another week when we needed him to come back out.
