New 5.7L Hemi Engine & 545RFE Transmission

Sold! Deposit received!

I've decided not to swap the Hemi into my JK. Long story, but my build is taking another path. I have everything needed for the swap save for the swap kit itself. This is set up for a JSS or BOR/Nemesis Truck motor swap kit. Why truck motor? More power, more torque, better cooling.

Here's a link to the thread that was my motivation & explained the reasons why I felt this engine was the best choice for a JK.

The engine is a basically new 2012 Truck Hemi with 375 miles on it.
The transmission is a 2010 with under 20k on it.

Lots of the parts are new from the dealer parts counter. My cost was $717 of parts on top of the engine & trans. Save money & time by getting it all together. I can supply BoM with Chrysler PN's on everything. Check your parts list & parts diagrams - this is everything down to the coolant, PS fluid & new oil/filter. The full list of parts is:

2012 5.7L Hemi Truck Motor, 375 miles, VIN 3C6TD5DT0CG100013 (3/4 ton)
2010 545RFE 2wd Auto Trans, under 20k miles, VIN 1B7GF16X1YS549936
4wd trans tailhousing & bolts (easy swap w/ 2wd tailhousing)
4 New O2 Sensors
Sonnax Trans Pressure Line Booster
Torque Converter Bolts (to flexplate)
O-ring, Torque converter hub
Bell Housing Bolts
Structural Dust Cover
Structural Dust Cover bolts
Intermediate Plate / cover
Starter
Starter Heat Shield
Starter Heat Shield bolts
Starter Bolts
Trans Dipstick
Trans Dipstick tube
Trans Dipstick tube bolt
Truck Fuel Supply Line (Tube, Fuel Supply)
Fuel Line Clips
Fuel Line Bracket Bolts
Trans/Eng Alignment Pins
Plastic Engine Cover
Engine Cover Mounting Grommets
Correct Chrysler HOAT Coolant (2 gals)
Correct Chrysler PS Fluid
Synthetic Oil & new Filter

I can ship these, but expect to pay ~$500 for both plus all the parts. Will charge actual shipping charges if that's your route. Local pickup is preferred. I may be able to make arrangements to meet you in Houston or Dallas if we schedule it & the price is right. The trans & engine are not assembled right now, but I'm happy to assemble them if you prefer.

Can pick these up at my garage just South of Austin, TX. I have an engine hoist & can help you load it onto your trailer or pickup. Comes on a pallet as shown.

Please PM me if you're interested - I don't check the forums often.

Asking $4500

Here are some pix of the engine as it was shipped to me. I can get some pictures of the transmission if needed, once I get back home again.

Cool. I know it was ~$250 for the engine only from Michigan to Texas, dock to dock. I'm imagining it would be easier to ship the trans on a separate pallet than one long pallet. I'll cover any shipping fees over $500 to keep it fair.

bnb2010 - I was thinking: unloading in West would be tough. I could deliver to your garage in Plano some Saturday pretty easily. I'd still get my stop in at the Czech Stop.

Got a couple of guys interested, but so far it's still here. Thought I'd add the very cool decals that come with it.

(The black is the color of your Jeep - there is no background). I had these made at Pixeldecals. I'll also include the silver/gray "Rubicon" decals for the AEV hood if you want them.

Need to get some photos of the trans.

Got one quote of $413 shipped to the East Coast for both the engine, trans & all the parts. So $4900 shipped is very do-able.

How much total do you have invested in this project? What were the hp and torque specs on your engine?

Good questions.

I have $5208.88 in this setup. (extensive spreadsheet)

This engine is rated at 390 HP & 407 ft-lbs of torque when installed in the JK with the JSS kit. (various programs vary the hp & tq by 5-10 ft-lbs up & down)

I have a nice para FAL

Dammit it sucks that I do not have the liquid cash right now to pick this up. And like 90% of the legwork of hunting down all the stupid little things has been done.

If this does not sell before the gov gives me my owed money we will have to talk. But I have a feeling it will be gone soon.

Got me hanging - that's a different thread. Search JSS's & BOR's/ Nemesis' threads. The info is out there, but I'm not a manual guy.

I hope it's gone soon! I have other projects to do!
But you're right - the hours & hours spent searching parts diagrams & parts listings can't be underestimated. I happen to love researching stuff like that - it's like a puzzle. I'm weird that way.

LS in a JK

This is a Great Deal, I will try to help sell it. I think this is the best Hemi for the money.
In the Hemi world this is one of the best low end torque engines out their. If any one whats any info i can help. we have done over 30 VVT Truck hemi swaps.
