August 3-Class ROTM Contest (Modified Class)!

So here are the guidelines/rules:

1. Modified Class includes: 37s and smaller, possible regearing, bumpers, winches...the usual modifications that most daily driver offroaders put together.

2. Contest will begin on 14 August and end on 21 August. The rig that wins the voting for Heavily Modified JK of the month will be announced on 22 August!

3. Vendor prizes are:
a. Matsonian (on behalf of Metal Cloak) - $100 gift certificate

Good luck to everyone!

NC FJIZZLE

Here's my submission (finally) for the modified class:

2010 Rubicon bought brand new in May 2010. We dubbed it the "Piggybank" because of the loose change that's fallen behind the dash and even into the doors, not to mention the money that's been put into it. I've taken pride in using only parts made in the USA if they're available for my needs.

Here's the build list:

Armor
Poison Spyder Customs: Brawler Lite with disco skid
Poison Spyder Customs: BFH rear
Poison Spyder Customs: Rigid 50" SR mounts
Poison Spyder Customs: Evap skid
Poison Spyder Customs: Bombshell diff covers (1st Gen)
Poison Spyder Customs: "Tramp Stamp"
Shrockworks: frame-mounted liders
R-se: D44 Bombshell Kit (inner sleeve and partial outer sleeve on long-tube side)
EVO: "Rockstar" rear shock relocation mounts
Synergy:: C gussets, LCA skids, ball joints

Suspension and Drivetrain
Rock Krawler: 3.5" X-factor on 2.5" springs (minus front uppers and rear track bar) pieced together + tie rod
Bilstein: 5100 shocks front and rear, 5100 steering stabilizer with Synergy relocation bracket
Tatton: rear driveshaft
Nitro Gear and Axle: 5.38 gears
Alloy USA: 32 spline rear shafts (chromoly)
Advance Adapters:: HD transfer case linkage

Wheel and Tire
Raceline: Monster beadlocks with aluminum rings
Nitto: 37x12.5 Trail Grapplers

Lighting/Electrical
Rigid Industries: 50" SR light bar
sPod: Gen II "The Source" system
AEV: ProCal

Other stuff: Reflex bed liner (grill, behind fenders, pinch seams and rear fender wells), MOPAR gas tank cover, tail light guards, cut stock fenders, Spiderweb Shade TrailMesh, Daystar dash pad, Corbeau grab handles, console armrest, Husky Liners in the front, Tuffy under-seat drawer, CoverKing seat covers

Shouldn't zombified's rig be in stock class?

It looks out classed since it looks mostly stock with only bumpers and rocker knockers

Sure my rig has seen the trail, but I wheel it like a soccer mom looking for a parking spot at Nordstroms.

he has more than bumpers and rocker knockers which is why he is in the modified class. The stock class rules have changes and next run will say "no mods...still plastic bumpers" because if you take a rig like Zombified and enter it into the Stock Class then you will have guys mentioning they are outclassed in the stock category where they are LITERALLY stock like on the current stock class ROTM.

With that, Zombified isn't the first one who appears "out-classed" in the modified class at the start of their builds (see previous ROTMs), but he has a very good start to his overhaul and from his posts will be some pretty tough competition very soon soon when his new wheels, tires, etc go on. See his picture of the truck bed with new tires.

He may seem a little outgunned right now, but that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't stand a chance. Look at June's ROTM Modified winner. There were plenty of other rigs that had lots more done than his (JKCTAZ) and he won by a pretty big margin. I can say for certain that the Gecko Green will definitley earn him some brownie points!

Just because it necessitates another look!

Rig looks great, man! Runs a very close 2nd IMHO now. Like I said in a previous post....that color gives you a definite edge. I'd love to have another rig in that color. My wife wants a Jeep after driving mine naked one evening. Said she'd go with the Gecko Green if she had a choice. It's definitely a great color! In fact....think I'll tease her a little and send her this pic.
