August Ride Of The Month Submission Thread

Ride of the month submission time!

We are looking for the best picture for August ROTM!
This month's theme is: Scenery

Summer is the time of the year when we load up our Jeeps to go camping, on expeditions or just to get off the beaten path. Post up your favorite picture showing your jeep in beautiful scenery. It can be on a forest road, a hardcore trail or anywhere else that is displays the beautiful world we live in.

I'll set up a voting thread later in the month.

Here's an example:

We’re looking for the best member’s pictures for that month. The winning picture will have the place of honor on the JKOwners Facebook page. We’ve eliminated the multiple classes. There is only one. We don’t care what’s on the Jeep (or how much $ they’ve spent or sweat they’ve put into it).
The criteria will be simple. Each month we’ll have a theme unannounced until entry time. Entrants will post up their submitted picture for ROTM. We anticipate quite a few submissions each month.

It would be helpful to the entrant by having a little caption of where the shot was taken. Another thing to consider would be to make it a higher quality picture.

What are you voting on? The overall picture and how well it relates to the theme of the month, picture quality, uniqueness of the shot, how well the jeep is framed in the foreground or beauty of the background. Which of the pictures posted by the entrants just 'makes it for you' as the symbol of our group on the Facebook home page. There are a lot of factors but we wanted to allow you guys to determine the best picture of the month.

I really don't want to make a huge list of rules that sort this out, but as they are generated, I'll update this post with whatever rules need to be imposed.
Rules:
1. Picture must be of the entrant's jeep. (A Jeep JK)
2. Picture must comply with the theme of the month. Those that don't comply will be disqualified.
3. Winners in the calendar year are disqualified from entering again in the same calendar year. We'd like to spread the wins out, which I'm sure you'll understand.
4. One submission post of one picture only per month please.

The winner for the Month gets a $100 gift certificate from Metal Cloak. Thanks for the support!

Alaska outside of Anchorage last summer. Sunset was around 1030 or so?

Okay so I lied... I really tried hare to come up with a picture to enter that might rival the great scenes out west... The best I could think of for summer was bikinis at the beach, but I don't think I can get there before the voting begins...

So another thing I think of when it comes to summer is colorful flowers... So this is my best scenery - Jeep pic...

Just outside Telluride Colorado. It's hard to tell in the pic but the ledge in front of the jeep goes pretty much straight down.

No offense to those Jeepers West of the Mississippi... but there should be a month dedicated to those East of the Mississippi... We just can't compete with the beauty and rugged trails the West has to offer...

Sounds like someone needs to drive their jeep westward to run some of these trails!

it looks like JKCatz and TXtoAZ and Diesel kinda have this locked-up w/ their geographic proximity to the red, slick rock of Moab. Just cannot compete with a well built Jeep sittin' pretty in that environment , imho

nice pictures , everybody !

oh...sorry JeepMomma; didn't see you'd kinda posted the same opine !
