FWIW, I was at the dealer yesterday and they stated that they knew nothing about this recall as they havent heard from Chrysler yet.
Stated they wished Corp. would let them know about recalls before they put it out public.

I'm not sure the issue is with the Manufacturer letting the information out. They are required to tell the Feds and since the Feds data is public the media gets ahold of it and then the whole world knows.

When i picked up my JK I spent a few hours going over it and found most of the brake lines not clipped into place properly and rubbing on the chassis in various places.

We've got different brake line setup to you guys though (RHD).

ex: RHD JK 2dr CRD auto
now: RHD JK 2dr Rubicon 3.8 6spd

Has anyone received a notice on this yet? I'm hoping that it shows up soon. Hopefully the dealership will be cool and activate my fog lights for cheap/free while the Jeep is in for this recall.

As of this afternoon, I havent received anything about the current recall.
All I keep getting is something about some kind of credit card or Jeep insurance.
Neither of which I want or need. Got all that already covered.

I just got my oil changed and the Service Rep said I had a recall. I mentioned the brake lines and he had no clue what I was talking about. But there was a recall on my automatic trany oil temp sensor program

True: The recall is J30: Reprogram CCn Transmission Fluid Temp Warning.

Essentially, they add a warning to CCN for overheating tranny fluids so it doesn't boilover onto your exhaust causing crispy critter carnage. Affects model year 2008.

My JK is 09. I got it fixed a couple weeks ago and I got my recall notice yesterday in the mail. It appears that the service department at my dealer is on top of it. I just wish the parts department would get my parts in.

seams that we are always waiting on the parts, and some times they show up and sit their for a few days before you get a call.

I recieved a letter about my trans but not the brake lines yet !! It cracks me up that there is a problem and they wont fix it because they havent got the piece of paper yet.(Espeacially when it comes to brakes, I mean come on) I hate dealerships, If we know, you cant tell me they dont know ! There just playing dumb !! I took my Jeep to Suburban Chyrsler Dealership here in Michigan because my compass is off and they wouldnt cover it because I had a stereo system installed , I got into a huge fight with them over it and they still said that it would cost me around 300 bucks in labor and for the part ! they said that when the steroe was installed they had to have damaged it somehow ! I couldnt believe what I was hearing !! I hate dealerships , they never want to warranty anything and always try to pass the buck or blame it on someone else !! And were talking about a Jeep that has only 6 ,000 miles on it !!

Tear It Up - Fix It - And Do It Again !!

I don't trust them to fix it. I had the stall bug, and even after the recall they still denied they were at fault. I'll see before my trip whether I am affected, however I don't have any front liners.

I got 3!!!
The 3rd one was sent back with "I no longer have this bumper as it FELL OFF!" in big red sharpie letters.
Was at the dealership 3 weeks later, and they told me that Chrysler still didn't remove it from my VIN.

had mine is about 2 weeks ago for an oil chage and to have the computer flashed for this recall. As far as how long it will take......I'll get back to you on that, they still haven't done it....they were unable to either download the update from Chrysler's site or upload (install) it to my computer. whatever the problem was, it never got done.

I was there for a total of one hour which was their estimate for the oil change, tire rotation and the flash. Not sure how longthe flash is SUPPOSED to take but it can't be more than 30 minutes.

X2. I had my gas tank replaced under warranty recently (fuel overflows) and the dealer did the auto trans "hot oil" flash. They said they didn't know about this yet.

My question is, is this universal for all JKs or not?

Yeah, me three. I took mine in for that one, the transmission flash, a check engine code p0108, and my rear locker was not working (again). So, they fixed (I Hope) the recall for the tow bar I did not have, the flashed the computer (changed the shift points on the transmission, changed when the lockup happens, AND it lowered the charge voltage on the alternator from 14.1+ down to 13.6-13.8v).

For the P0108 they replaced the map sensor (warranty).

For the rear locker, they found metal parts in the differential, so they rebuilt it (again). They just did this last September and I have not even used it since then... bummer. Oh, well. it was covered under warranty (again).

So, my out of pocket was $100 and the warranty covered the other $2000 in parts and labor. I have never been so pleased with an extended warranty. By the time I hit 100k and the end, I'll have had the drivetrain rebuilt.

So far under warranty (major parts):

- Cracked exhaust manifold
- Manifold gaskets (before they found the cracked manifold)
- Both side catalytic converters
- Front differential & locker replaced
- Rear differential and locker replaced (twice)
- Crankshaft position sensor (twice)
- MAP sensor

- Chrysler has covered the slew of TSB's

- an other minor stuff for the hard top leaking and such

BUT, the bottom line is, in 46 months of ownership, it has spent at least three months in the shop getting items repaired/replaced. I figure the warranty company has invested close to 10 grand in all the trips. Best 2 grand I ever spent, that extended warranty.

At this writing I have almost 87,000 miles on the odometer.
