Headlamp or penlight, which light is better for camping ?

I am going to a camping trip next month and I want to buy a camping light. Convenience and light weight are the most important features , headlamp or penlight, which is better ? Which kind of camping lights are you using ? my friend are using the heavy professional camping torch, but I don't want a heavy one .

No way, flash light held away from the body. Head light is an easy shot for a sniper. And you can dent the skull on a zombie with a good ole maglight!

x2 on the Tikka 2, it's a kick ass light. My wife has that one and I've got the Tikka XP 2. We used it last year on our vacation and worked flawlessly. It does an excellent job of distributing light and does so in a variety of ways. Plus it has a red light for use when you need light while in the tent, but don't want to blind everyone with white light. When you step up to the XP 2, it has an integrated diffuser you can slide up for more light throw up close vs more of a spot light shining off at a distance.

Sure my rig has seen the trail, but I wheel it like a soccer mom looking for a parking spot at Nordstroms.

X2 plus it can run on regular pump gas so no need to carry batteries.

Head lamps are probably the dumbest looking thing to sport, but i'll be darned if they aren't super useful when your need to both hands to do something.

I think this thing is finally coming together. Still Needed: drive shafts, frame mount rails...then done son! For a while...

First make sure its dark out.

Take Petzle out of center console

Then put it on your head, make sure to adjust the strap so its tight. Not too tight or you will get a funny mark on your forehead.

Push the button on the headlamp to turn it on.

Push it twice (or 3 times) to make it brighter.

BE CAREFUL! If you push it too many times it will start to flash.

Adjust the light so it shines down a little bit, no-one likes a headlamp that is shooting off into the night sky.

Now you can do whatever you needed to do in the dark

Why the fuck is this in write ups?
