coolers behind radiator

Ok, last year I put the PSC Hydro assist on. So I have to run a cooler with their pump. No biggie. I already had the B&M trans cooler on. Last year engine temps would top out at 224 and then go back down. I don't want to do that again this year.

So my thinking is to put the PS cooler behind the radiator with a fan. Going to be a derale with their built in temp sensor so that it will kick in at 180 degrees. And then just leave the trans cooler where it was originally mounted. I will be running brackets off the engine for the top support and a bracket to the round crash bar on the bottom for support.

Any concerns complaints, moans, bitches? I know where Doc put his at but I have the stock airbox right there and Derale doesn't make a small enough cooler with fan to fit there.

Nice but I don't want heat sinks I want at least one of these bad boys. I tend to over engineer shit all the time.

It's not a good idea to mount anything to the motor and chassis unless you have solid motor mounts?

Look at bodyguy's setup in the write-up library, it might be right up your alley. Check the index under cooling.

I would say not the best idea to mount it behind the radiator. To much hot air given off from the radiator. Not the best cooling air even with a fan. IMO

But I would rather have it behind the radiator fan with its own fan running than sitting in front of the radiator with no fan.

Fan or not, the heat exchanger is only as effective as the air it's pulling through. If you're behind the radiator pulling in 150*+ air, it can't exchange much heat and will be substantially less effective.

That would be an over-engineered part choice in an under-engineered location. Seems like you are pretty hell bent for glory with that location..have at it.

Not hell bent on that location. Just can't find another spot for a cooler with fan.

Probably not the answer your looking for but hood vents helped a ton with my underhood temps.
Plus I'm running a 6.5 spal fan to pull air out.

You smell that?
