Does anyone have a pic of how this mounts to the engine side. Do you retain the air box?

Are you talking about River Raiders snorkel? If so then yes it looks like you keep the stock airbox. check this out.

outside air will run to original spot on the air box that was for the engine to air box, you drill a second hole on the bottom of the air box on the flat side of the box (very small area, it just fits) but almost directly under the topside intake to engine port... the factory port on the other side gets blocked off completely...
