Trail Gear DIY rockslider CHEAP

Ok guys I was lookng for some sliders that attach to the frame and everthing I found was $400-$700 dollars so I decided to make my own. I found Some scheduale 80 pipe that I was going to make them out of. After the pipe BROKE a JDM2 bender and distroyed my hole saw in 1/2 a cut I decide to scrap it and try a new plan. Appeaqrently its made out of Tungstamanium (made up word for holy fing tough crap).

So Now I was back to spending an ass ton of money on some sliders. After searching DIY sliders some more I found that Trail Gear made some DIY sliders for toyota's. The main slider part comes pre assembled and all I have to do add the legs (I also ordered a frame plate kit and gussets). So to my surprise they had one that was 67" sweet mine was going to be 68 1/2" but close enough. The only issue I could see, that I was not happy with is the fact that it only came with 6 legs 3 for each side. So I would order a frame mount kit with 8 plates and 8 gussets. The legs are very long and there would be enough material from the legs to make the extra 2 that I need. So I orderd them and for a wopping total of $275 including shipping they where at my door in no time.

I ordered PART #
1 Rocker Slider Kit: 67 0 120002-1-KIT
1 Rocker Slider mounting Kit 8ea 0 120008-1-KIT

Here are some pics of the progress. I plan to finish them tomorrow.

I don't see why you couldn't change the pitch of them though. I run mine at a 45 [not the same slider], but I do agree..they're out there.

They r out far because that's how I made them they actually don't stick out any further than my stock JKUR slider with weld on bars. That is actually what I used for a base to get the dimentiins. They do turn up and about 30* so they will slide way from rocks. The legs that come with them are 12"s long and I cut them down to the size I wanted. I set the main bar at the pinch seem in the middle which was pretty close to where the other sliders where. Also I plan on beating the crap out of theses and want to keep stuff away from the body.

I put them on my last jku.
I welded mine at 35* with the legs 5 1/2, 5 3/4, and 6".
Frame rails are tapered.
I found them for $169 with free shipping when I bought them.
I will be putting them on the new jk too!
Can't beat the price and they can take a beating!

That looks good. I had to leave enough for the kids and wife to step on to get in and out especially on trail on 42s.

I did four legs because I'm going to beat the hell out of them but they where.
4 1/4
4 3/4
5 1/8
5 7/8 with an 8* cut 82* with face of frame mounted at the to of the frame and no gusset.

The last legs had to clear the long arms so it was a little more of a pain in te ass but they don't move at all.
