knocking/vibration in front end

Went out driving my jeep today and started getting a vibration and knocking noise in the front end. When i turn left or right it gets more intense and sounds like something is binding. Anybody got any ideas?

How many miles? Could be U-Joints if its high mileage. Could also be ball joints.

Give us a little more info about your vehicle and the conditions when this this happens. On pavement? Full wheel lock or just a slight turn? On level ground or is one tire raised? What tire size are you running?

Things like that.

Its got 40k miles and the ball joints have been going bad for awhile. Have them sitting in the garage just havnt put them in yet. I havnt been off road in awhile and this just started today. Happens on pavement and level ground. The harder the turn the more intense knocking. 3 inch lift (shocks/springs) and front lca's with 35's.

That sure sounds like U-Joints to me, but since you know the ball joints are going bad I'd replace those and see if it continues.

I destroyed my factory ball joints at 6000 miles with 33s. If you have 35s and have made it to 40000 miles, thats pretty good.

What the best method to check the integrity of your ball joints anyways? Pry bar in between the axle C and the ujoint and pull upwards and check for up and down play?
