Bedlining the grill...Form or Function?

Pick your reasoning.

So I've seen a few JK's with bedlined/painted grills, which made me think. Why have you guys done it? Do you do it for purely for astetics/form or is there an actual functional reason in doing it; durability (chips?).

If you have done it; write why you did it, post a picture of it, and write what paint/bedliner you did it with. Nice and simple.

I did it, then swapped a buddy for his white grill. Mine was starting to look more black then white!

I painted mine strictly for looks. Pulled it off, sanded it lightly, one coat of primer, 3 coats of Camo flat black I got a HD.

I got razzed here after I bought it because of the chrome grille it had on it. So when I yanked the grill I decided what the hell. I think it looks good and has been very durable. I sanded it quickly, used a duplicolor adhesion promoter, then several coats of the duplicolor bedliner in an aersol.

Did it for looks, but I love how it dominates bugs and thrown gravel on the interstate like it's nothing.

What did you use? I'm looking for a BL that is rubbery and smooth. Any suggestions.

And all you that use Duplicolor BL, is that the "Bed Armor" (think it's got Kevlar)
