A little Hi-Lift solution for the 2 door guys.

So I should be getting my new bumper next week and ran into the conundrum of a new mounting location for my Hi-Lift. The Rugged Ridge mount for the tailgate is not an option because I have a trail rack. Doesn't leave any other options except laying it down the the cargo area, right? Nope. I came up with this.

It uses two standard 3" exhaust clamps. I bedlined them and them used a black PVC tubing to insulate the u-bolts, I also used some of that door trim to isulate the slide clamp as well so no rattles on the sport cage tube. I estimate I have about 35 bucks wrapped up in material and about an hour. Turned out good and keeps the jack out of the way. The only down side is having to take the foot off to mount it.

Nice! I have mine on the hood, but may consider this as another option. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Ive always wondered how much of a pain in the ass is it to remove the hilift from the hood or have you ever banged up your hood with it. Also how do you think it would hold up in an accident as far as staying attached to the hood. Thanks

Yep, but at double or more the price and I went overboard. 3" exhaust clamps are 10 bucks, the tubing was 25 cents a foot (only needed a foot), the hardware was 5 bucks. I factored the trim, a new can of Bedliner and etching primer into that price. Bare bones you're only looking at 20 bucks or less depending on what you already have on hand.

Theirs is nice, but I'm always looking for clean ways of doing things that don't break the bank.

You mean the monkey seats? LOL. Yep, those will be there for a few more years...

Edit : LOL, you mean the whole back seat. Yeah, kind of need it right now. If it was an option to eject it, I would.

That would work on a 4 door too. Just mount it higher up toward the rear cross bar. I like mine on my hood.
