What kind of D44 housing is it? If it's from a JK you can swap over the outers intact (knuckles & brakes, etc.). You'll need a differential, axle shafts inner & outer and a ring & pinion. Get some Poly or Dynatrac ball joints, too.

They use the same 32sp outer shafts, so you can re-use everything from the outer shafts outward. You will need new joints to connect the outers to the new 30sp inners, r&p, locker, seals, etc. If you don't want to buy the $1400 factory e-locker, look at a 35sp arb or 35sp ected, along with 35sp shafts.

Is that the only options as far as lockers? If so I probably need to pony up to the 35spline shafts huh

You could go big with the 35 spline ARB air locker and RCV shafts.
You will need gears R&P, bearings, shims, seals, gear oil... And while you're building it go ahead and truss it and support the inner C's too.

I'm doing the same thing.

Since you are starting from scratch just go all out:
CV's
ARB
Synergy outer shell kit
Reid knuckles
master overhaul kit

Damn the cannons, full speed ahead! |
