How to get pins out of hinges?

I am refurbing the hinges with new pins and bushings since they are toasted.

I am having a devil of a time removing the first pin from the hinge (assembly is off the Jeep, and this one is already door and body side of hinges apart).

Any suggestions? BFH already has done a bit of hinge damage where I missed. I can't seem to get it off, and don't want to torch it too bad since I want to keep the paint decent.

I'd drill the heads off the pins and then drive them out. Put a socket under hinge to support it. If you're worried about missing the pin with the hammer and screwing up the hinge, a simple solution would be to drill a half inch hole in a piece of plywood and slide it over the pin. The wood will protect hinge from a missed blow.

new hinges with pins are only about $50/pr
so if it turns into too much of an ordeal, its not the end of the world to replace them
