JKU Weight

So i am trying to get an idea of weight for a trailer, tow rig and so on and so forth. anyone weight your JKU yet? I am thinking about bringing it to the weigh station but dont know how to go about asking them or having them weight it. If you have post a picture of your JKU with a list of the mods and then the weight.

Mine has a 3.5" standard lift with 37" mtr's on 17" wheels and an xrc rear bumper and tire carrier. Not a lot of mods but i know everything adds weight!

Other then pulling the rear bumper and fabbing something up, I can't see too many option for losing any weight other then chopping it up which I'm not ready for...yet lol

I wouldn't' even worry with the weight, I'd go straight to a diesel pickup and a tandem axle car hauler.

One of the guys here just bought one and towed his JK down to SMORR. I don't think he had any issues and his JK isn't a lightweight by any means. Just check out his "Stomper" thread for pics.

yeah i showed it to her and she wants to test drive it! but with a tow rating of 9k thats not bad! the Seqouia is nice and can tow 10k but the price tag increases dramatically!

Armada is an awesome vehicle. Make sure you get the Big Tow package with the auto leveling rear suspension. It has a 9,100 pound tow rating. This is my wife's DD. Can haul the jeep, family, and supplies in comfort.

I think a stock armada would be a great tow rig/dd. but a lifted one not so much.

I got to ride with him in that Armada for a bit. I'm 6'3 and fit (almost) comfortably in the last row of seats. It towed his rig + a large trailer just fine on the highway.

Damn the cannons, full speed ahead! |

Not to hijack but has anyone on here ever towed their JKU with an FJ? I am not talking 100's of miles but just short distances. I once saw a picture of one behind an FJ but cant find it. I think my FJ only has a 5500lb capacity.

No way. I wouldn't do it. I mean you probably could. It would probably physically move it. But it'll be way overloaded

not really, I still have d30 and d44 and mine weighs in right at 5,600. RK long arm, 37's, granted that had my tool bags loaded when I weighed but that's no offroad gear or camping gear either.

I finally ditched that "other" forum
