Wiring Warn Wirless lights

Just picked up a set of the Warn Wireless fogs. The directions are probably the worst directions I've ever seen, having an illistration of tying wires to together probably wasn't worth the money invested. What a F'n joke.

Any ways, anyone mount a set, where did you put the module, run the wires, etc. Any tips would be appreciated!

"Wiring wireless lights," is that an oxymoron?

Yeah, they call them "Wireless", but it's just the switch, there's still a bunch of wiring, and a module for the remote to place and mount. That's more what I'm interested in, where's the best place to mount it.

Here's the Instructions they provide online most likely the same as you have.

Here is where I mounted the remote box:

After following Warn's instructions exactly, I had to call them 'cause everytime I turned on the fog lights, then the JK's lights, the fog lights would go out. When I told them I was installing them on a JK, I was told the computer turns off the fog lights when installed per the installation instructions provided. Warn's tech told me the only way to make the fog lights stay on for a JK is to connect the power wire directly to the battery. The tech said just don't forget to turn off the fog lights when turning off the Jeep so the battery doesn't drain. No duh! Not my first choice on how I wanted these lights to work! But they are bright and do the job when on!

Good luck.

Instead of getting the power directly from the battery why not use an ignition switched +? That way there is no chance of accidentally leaving them on.

Hey Salt Life, thanks, that's what I was looking for, looks like a perfect place to put the module. Also, I'll probably wire them directly to the battery unless someone comes up with a good switched source, I'm not really worried about leaving them on, I have the 6.5's.

I'll post up some pics when I get them mounted, took a half day from work to wait on the FedUp guy bringing the bumper, the lights are sitting here ready to go!

Thanks!

One more quick question, what did you do, run the harness through the existing wire loom?

No, been awhile since I installed these, but without looking, I think I ran it along side of it. At work right now, don't have the JK here to look at.

Glad I could help with the module location.
