Shimming Spider Gears

So my Aussie is acting up, gonna pull it out next week. I'm not sure I have the spider gears from the current carrier, but I have a set from another carrier with the stock shims still in it. Can I just swap the spider gears from carrier to carrier without any hassle, or do they need a careful shimming like a R&P would?

Should be fine as long as they aren't damaged or something,

They aren't part of a critically adjustable setup.
