painting hi-lifts?

im trying to do the everything black thing on my jeep and my hi-lift that sits on my hood is very red! I took it off to paint it but figured i would just get paint in everthing on the lift, meaning screws and other workings of it. Have others painted it themselves? Does it come out ok? Does it still work? Pics would be super!

this is mine with the red...i would love it black!

I took mine completely apart, painted it, and had it back together in about 4 hours with drying time. It was a little bit of work to figure out, but nothing too bad

Okay well someone beat me to my repainting of my Jack and I've also realized I really need to get back to work on that site, I have about 20 write ups that I need to complete and post.

There are a handful off pieces, take pictures if that makes you feel comfortable about the disassemble. Or just paint that sob as it sits!...should turn out "okay"

They come in black, post to see if someone would just trade you. That would be my recommendation.

I guess it's true, the all cast version is technically better as far as longevity than the cast/steel. But if you are really going to use your hi-lift enough to wear out a steel bar then you need to get a more capable rig or learn to drive it better!
