Speedo vs Nav

So, I got my lift, 5:38's and 37's all finished up yesterday. During my test drive, I knew my speedo would be off, but I figured I would just use the nav system for my mph until I get my DS trinity installed. Turns out I was wrong, the nav system is off just as much as the speedo. Does this make sense to anyone? I figured the nav's mph would have it's own signal like a normal gps. Anyone else have this issue?

I noticed my stock set up was about 4 % off at 100 by gps. Then I put on 37's and at one point had the stock size programmed. The speedo was off 15% at 100 and the shifting was screwed.
Your speedo should be way off until you reprogram, but the nav system might us canbus for speed so that might be why. Canbus for everything is scary.
The 2011 should be pure garmin.
Anybody?

Mine is a 2011 and the speedo and nave were 1 mph different stock. Now that still seems to be the case, except they are both 9-10 mph slow at 65mph. And I'm pretty sure it's garmin for the gps

First, coilrod, your Jeep goes 100?

Second, are you guys all in 2011s? Because my Nav doesn't show my speed.

Third, my speedometer is dead accurate after adjusting my programming via Superchips

07 X - Flame Red - 6 Speed - 5.13s - 37x12.50 MTR/Ks - ProComp 7069s 17x9
RK 3.5" X-Factor LA - WTOR Hydro Assist - Rubicon Axles F&R - Trussed & HD Brackets
PSC Flares, OR-Fab Front Bumper, Genright Rear Bumper, Poly Sliders w/ PSC Armor

I can do 100 into a head wind. (Avenger Supercharged 2010 Rubicon Un-ltd no nav, just a garmin) and yes, that's mph,not kmh. It just takes more fuel...
It must be the canbus feeding the nav system off the wheen speed sensors if you still haven't reprogrammed the tire size.
Unless you are driving a stick your auto trans shifting should be off.

I will be putting in the programmer pretty soon, I just thought it was odd that the nav was off like the speedo. To me, that just doesn't seem right.

yup the nav is getting the speed from the vss ( vehicle speed sensor ) so until you reprogram your gps speed will also be off.. if you used a hand held gps that would give you accurate speed.

or do like i did, get an aftermarket dvd/gps unit ... lol my gps is right on all the time ....hehe but yes that makes sense that the factory gps uses on board signal

There is no such thing as "one too many" ... and there is no such thing as a "finished jeep" project

All our Jeeps "can" do 100. That's where the speed governor is. Its just a matter of how much each one of us wants to explain all the perverted shit we did to the devil when we do go 100 and wreck our shit.

1. 100 mph...Are you freakin kidding me.
2. Installed KM2 35's (34.5") off a little. Corrected with SC. Not perfect because I corrected for 35" not 34.5" and I am Lazy.
3. Installed 5.38 gears. Not much difference. Wierd

All speeds were checked with a Garmin. 1-3 MPH difference dont mean much when your doing 150.

Gears won't effect your speedo
Canbus reads the wheel speed sensors in the hubs
