engine swap

okay i have been debating on a engine swap and am fixing to pull the trigger and wanted to see what you guys thought,it will be a little more costly than the hemi but i will get better gas mileage than any v8 and have more power than most.
i have been talking to a buddy of mine at ford and have decided i want to do the new v6 ecoboost in the f150,i will be getting over 20mpg and have over 400ftlb of torque.the complete engine, harness and turbos are $15k i am waiting on a ecu price

Now that sounds like lots of bugs to figure out and make work. When it's all done you are going to have one unique Jeep. If you got Skilz...Go for it!

It's for sure going to be a pia but if we can pull it off it will be so worth it, I will save alot of mony because I will not have to hire anyone to do anything except the drive shafts. It is not a for sure deal till I pick the truck up Monday to get some measurements

Why wouldn't you supercharge or turbocharge a Pentastar? Should have the same results and work with a lot more Jeep stuff. 2012's will be out soon enough...

I think this would be a pretty cool swap because I am a fan of the eco boost but if the point is to get more power and better fuel economy, then just as a thought why not swapping in a diesel?

Picking up a used motor would be significantly cheaper and it will deliver more torque and better mpg than the ecoboost ever can.

I am not trying to say that this swap is a bad idea but for the money and time you are preparing to invest, you would get much more benefit out of a diesel in my opinion.

Helped a friend do a 40 Ford Hotrod with this engine !!!! It was as easy as installing a Hemi in the JK.

However...............

In a JK it might be a PITA !!!

The Project is moving forward.

I had thought about the same swap when I saw the Eco Boost come out but way over my head as far as pice for the drivetrain. Maybe in a few years when there are some junk yard eco boost's....
