WTF? D-Rings

I got a front bfh, my d-ring shackels, say they are 3/4", but the fuckers don't fit. I will order new ones, but I need to make sure if I buy the psc ones which are 3/4" also that they are gonna fit.

..Check the rating on the shackles. Best ones I found were from Tractor Supply, ~$15 6 1/2 ton rating, I think most are 4-4 1/2. Can't hurt to have "too much"

So why the paint on my new riddler diff covers was drying, I decided to take the pin from the d-rings to the bench grinder, to see if I took some off, if they would work. And i'll be a monkey's uncle it worked! I was gonna order some new ones this a.m., but figured I would try this first, and see. Now I got some money to blow on other shit!

Have they switched to 5/8" or something? Can't even blame the powdercoat for shrinking the hole.

FWIW most 3/4" shackles come with a 7/8" pin, and 5/8" shackles with a 3/4" pin.

3/4" carbon steel shackles are usually rated around 4.5 tons, alloy steel ones are rated around 7 tons. An alloy steel 5/8" shackle will be rated at 5 tons, more than a carbon steel 3/4".

Just saw this thread and I have some information about it. When we originally designed our shackle tabs, we used every different brand of shackle (D-ring to some of you) that we could find around here, about 4 or 5 different manufacturers. The hole in the tab was designed to fit them with minimal slop. The D-rings we sell, plus those from Warn and a few others were all known to fit fine. But we did start to hear about some that didn't fit, and it turns out that some of the cheaper imported shackles have a slightly larger diameter screw pin, I'm assuming to make up for the weakness of the cheaper alloy. Anyhow some of those didn't fit our tabs. We did re-design our tabs recently with a slightly larger hole to accommodate these shackles, so the bumpers we're shipping new should fit just about any shackle out there. What kind of sucks is that the higher quality ones have a tad more slop now, just so the cheapies can fit in there too LOL...

I would be happy to get my Poison Spyder order that was placed back in the first of March.

Been told for the last three weeks that is will ship in a day or so. Just called again and it hasnt even left yet.

Getting a little upset.

Just installed my bumpers this weekend and, guess what, the damn pins don't fit through the front bumper. These are not cheap ones either...they are ARB's from Northridge. I hate annoying little issues like this!

This!

when you see 3/4" it is talking about the shackle size. You need to look at the pin diameter. I made the same exact mistake and ended up drilling my tabs out to fit the 7/8 pin.

Don't worry, I ordered the ones from Poison Spyder and they don't fit my BFH front. Funny thing is they fit my rock brawler rear. 50/50 not bad.

Are you serious? I am about to order them from PSC thinking they would fit for sure.

Yeah I don't know, 50/50. I mean there are those who didn't have an issue. I contacted PS and got crickets.

Drills are pretty cool. I heard they can put a larger hole in a tab so that bigger shackles will fit.
